1 ½ lbs Ground Beef *leaner is better
3/4 cup TaterSweet™ Sweet & Sour Dressing (divided: ½ cup, ¼ cup)
3/4 cup Breadcrumbs
½ cup Minced Onion (fresh or dried)
1 clove Minced Garlic (fresh or dried)
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp Thyme (fresh or dried)
½ tsp Black Pepper
½ tsp Salt or Salt Substitute*optional
> Preheat oven to 350°F, place rack in upper position
> Combine (gently by hand, in a deep mixing bowl) Ground Beef, ½ cup TaterSweet™,
Onion, Egg, Worcestershire, Garlic, Thyme, Salt (or substitute if desired) and Pepper
Tip: When mixing, don’t squeeze too tightly as over-compressing the ground beef
will create a denser, heavier SweetLOAF.
> Place mixture into a lightly greased 8 x 4-inch loaf pan
> In the center of a large piece of heavy-duty foil, shape the mixture into a loaf and fold the foil
up to support the four sides, then roll the top edges down to just above the top of your
SweetLOAF, place in a broiler pan or onto a cookie sheet
> Using your finger or a spoon, split the top of the loaf from end to end, about 1-inch wide
and not very deep. Pour the remaining ¼ cup TaterSweet™ along the length of the split
> Place on top rack of pre-heated oven; Bake 45-55min at 350°F, until center reaches 160°F
> Remove from oven and let stand for 10min, slice... serve... ENJOY!
